Against the backdrop of corona, to prevent corona infection, the marketing federation has
stopped the purchase of cotton from March and demanded immediate resumption of demand. .
Cotton sales records of about 1200 farmers under the Agricultural Produce Market Committee have been taken. An estimated 40,000 quintals of cotton is lying with 1200 farmers. The kharif sowing has started in just a few days. Therefore, the cotton in the hands of the farmers is a matter of concern. There is a period of months left. Even then, the question of how farmers will be ready for sowing till cotton is sold at home is facing many.
Manjit cotton at Gunj in Mahagaon taluka is suitable for farmers’ goods. But 15,000 quintals of sorghum is already lying on the center. If the marketing team pays attention to this, Manjit Cotton at Gunj will be able to start a shopping center. It is not possible to start this center if the marketing team helps to pick up the sarki. As a result, farmers will have to sell white gold to private traders at a bargain price.
Deepak Ade, Chairman, Agricultural Produce Market Committee, has written to the District Collector, Marketing Officer and District Deputy Registrar demanding immediate start of the center.
